The Inner Circle, the historic organization of New York TV and radio personalities and print and web journalists, announced today that the 96th Annual Inner Circle Show will spoof the local, state and national political scene in a satirical Two-Act laugh-riot, “Curb Your Narcissism.”

The extravaganza is produced, written, and performed by an exclusive group of Journalists who cover New York, not only lampooning the Mayor, but lambasting national and local politics—all in the name of charity.

Following the Inner Circle performance will be the traditional Mayor’s rebuttal, starring Mayor de Blasio and his arsenal of surprise guests.

This year’s Inner Circle Show will return to the Grand Ballroom, New York Hilton, 1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York on Saturday, April 21, 2018; (6:00pm cocktails, followed by 7:30 Dinner/Show), and individual tickets begin at $500, with sponsorship tables of ten going for $7,500 (Prime Table), $10,000 (Preferred Table), and $15,000 (Premiere Table).

Past Inner Circle Show evenings are etched in NYC’s history, and recently included “Trumped: de Blasio to the Rescue,” “Shamilton,” and “Stuck with de Bill;” as well as appearances by Mayor Ed Koch (who came out of the man-eating plant from “Little Shop of Horrors”), Mayor Rudy Giuliani (aka “Rudia,” who sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President in falsetto), and Mayor Bloomberg, (with the Broadway casts “Chicago,” “Spamalot,” “Mary Poppins” and “Mamma Mia!”)

In 2016, Mayor Bill de Blasio was surprised with a walk-on by then Democratic Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

The evening is one of the top political A-list networking and fundraising events, which over the past 40 years has given to hundreds of New York City-based charities, such as Covenant House, New York Irish Center, Bedford Stuyvesant YMCA, Columbia College Fund and Doctors Without Borders, to name a few.

Established in 1922 by NYC’s newspaper reporters covering City Hall, The Inner Circle Show is no stranger to excitement, controversy and a stage for hot topics and personalities.

Prior to 1973, women were not permitted to join the Inner Circle or take part in the show, and female guests were relegated to the balcony, where Mayor Lindsey’s wife, Mary, reportedly would flick peanuts from her balcony table at the men seated below, in protest.

Now, for the first time in the organization’s history, women are literally running show—as four women hold the The Inner Circle’s executive positions, including long-time NYC news reporter, Polly Kreisman (NBC News Radio, NY1, WPIX), who is this year’s President. Kreisman promises “our newsy ensemble will take no prisoners, and we sincerely hope that you join in the festivities by purchasing a ticket or sponsoring a table, and helping us support worthy charities.”
