Thank you for your patience as we took the time to review our options for the Inner Circle Show. For nearly 100 years, our annual event has raised much-needed funds for local charities. This year, we’re taking a pause to allow our beautiful city to stay inside and #FlattenTheCurve.

We will not be gathering together to celebrate in person this year, but we know you’ll make next year’s show the best one yet. Meanwhile, your continued support during this unprecedented time allows us to carry on our mission. Click here to support us.

And stay tuned as we explore ways to provide a virtual glimpse into what we were working on this year!

“TRUMPED! de Blasio to the Rescue?” 2017 Show Title

It’s gonna be HUGE!

The title for the Inner Circle’s 95th annual show is “TRUMPED! de Blasio to the Rescue?” and sums up the mood and direction of New York City’s top elected figures as a new political era starts.

Now, the IC’s writing committee work begins in full with a script and song lyrics and the start of rehearsals Feb. 10.

“We couldn’t ask for a better climate for political satire,” said IC President Terry Sheridan. “There is so much rivalry and positioning for this mayoral election this year – our audience is going to love the show.”

Some of the political fodder to have fun with: a new Republican president, reviled by his home city but suggesting he may opt to govern more from here than from the White House.

A Democratic mayor seeking re-election over Republican challengers while juggling a new POTUS who’s taxing his city’s resources and a Dem governor grinning from the sidelines on the 2nd Avenue subway.

A City Hall press corps up-in-arms over access to Hizzoner.

A Twitstorm of posturing, events, ideas and power plays.

Show night – Saturday, April 1 – at our new home, the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel.
